Product Tracking
Ensuring each product receives the correct parts or processes and is manufactured correctly is frequently critical but often difficult to achieve. Our Product Tracking module monitors product as it moves through specific manufacturing cells (or zones) and can record what happens at each stage.
Product tracking is required when:
- different assemblies require different parts or subassemblies
- different processes must be applied
- process parameters (eg. fastener torque) must be varied
- Lot Traceability is needed to minimize exposure to quality issues
- "hot" jobs must fast-track through the system for Just-In-Time delivery schedules
- poor quality assemblies must be routed to a repair area for corretive action
By combining product tracking with data collection, the system will record the actual results of critical production operations for Lot Traceability. This enables you to track the origin and destination of all critical components and operations in your finished goods. Supplier lot or serial numbers can be translated into your finished goods' serial numbers in order to limit your exposure to quality issues. When a quality defect is found, it is easier to determine the root cause and correct it.
By combining product tracking with electronic manifests, the system can notify operators and automated equipment about the details of each assembly to ensure that the product is always manufactured correctly. Different parts or processes can be applied depending upon the particular assembly options required.
